Music Box Theatre

Began operating on August 22,1929 Chicago’s Music Box Theatre has since been the venue for both independent and foreign films providing entertainment to its visitors. Today, it is the largest full time operating theatre in the city.

Music box theatre can be accessed via car, train or bus. Limited parking is available on metered neighboring street while free parking is available north of Irving Park and west of Ashland.

From Monday till Thursday the first show begins at 5 pm and last show at 9:40 pm while for Saturday and Sunday first show starts at 11:30 am with last show starting at 9:40 pm. The current film being played from March 23 till March 27 are The Counterfeiters, Chop Shop and All About Eve. Upcoming feature films are Teeth and The transformers: The Movie on air for March 28 and March 29. On March 29 and 30 ‘Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?’ will be played. Upcoming Special Events are Sci-fi Spectacular on May 10 at noon, Mommie Dearest on May 11 at 2:30 pm and Troll 2 on May 23rd at midnight.

General admission fee charged is $9.25. A discounted price of $8.25 is offered on first show of the day i.e. at 5 pm while on Saturday and Sunday the show at 11:30 is offered at a discounted price of $7.25. Other discounted packages are offered as well such as five admissions for only $33.
